Ticked off.
I’ve been infested with ticks… and not only me, the whole house!!
It certainly freaked the humans out. They are everywhere – on the walls, in the kitchen, in the bedroom!
I must’ve caught them while playing in my favourite field.
To solve the crisis, I was sent off to Alex at Fur ‘n’ Away for a tick-off.

While I was at Alex’s, my folks went home to set off tick bombs in the living room and bedroom.
What a way to spend my weekend – I had to skip my pals Luna & Suria’s barkday pawty and miss Agility and Flyball because of Mama’s exams and now this terrible tick crisis. zzzzzZZz.. >_<

Backyard Agility
Oh wee! My DIY jumps are finally out of the storeroom and in the open field. My open field. It’s just a 5min walk away from home, and the size of a football field which, thank goodness, nobody seems to use.
Although now, I only have 2 miserable jumps, but Mum promised that as I get better, she will get Daddy to make more.
This is probably the only photo of myself not opening my mouth because as Mama will tell you, I’m forever grinning like a monkey. Duhh.. That’s of course, NOT true! I’m cool and full of attitude!

The setup: Half a pinwheel with the tunnel as dummy because like Debra said, I’m a tunnel sucker. I hope she meant that as a compliment though. Heh. I didnt even make a single tunnel mistake today because I’m not at all attracted to this smallish thing they try to fool me into believing is a Tunnel. Humans can be so dumb sometimes… ZZz

And…
I love this photo! This is the only photo of the mama & I. It’s usually only myself in photos.
All burned out from practice. What hot weather oh my.

Cousin Nicholas came over to join me in the field after practice. We played a good game of Fetch before Daddy came to help pack up and head home for
dinner.

Very hungry now!

Just one pic

Guess who took this smackin’ rockin’ photo of me? Looks pretty cool doesnt it? The photography skill I mean. Ahem. Can even capture that is-that-seaweed on my teeth?!?!?! Oops!
I wonder if Uncle John would be kind enough to offer his services.
You see, I’ll be teaming up with pal Miss Nova for Flyball this Saturday. It’s official. Yay! Much thanks to Dexter & Deb.
We waited so long for this.
And we have lots of action going on doing Agility and playing Frisbees on the weekends.
I dont mind paying! Really. Cookies or fresh Raw Meaty Bones in kind.
For cash payment, you can always look for my folks!

Luke Schneider Agility Seminar 2007
Yesterday marked the end of the seminar.
I am feeling sad already! Because I know fairly well that it just means my folks are going back to their busy schedules and wont have time to bring me for anymore Agility practice.
Does anyone have any solution for this?
On hindsight, I picked up many new handling skills but I felt mama & I could benefit more if we had prior experience to this sport and are not so novice. It would certainly help if Mama didnt confuse her Front- and Rear-crosses. geeshhh..
Anyway it’s over and tonight we are going over to Dexter’s place for buffet dinner with Luke.
And oh! Yesterday for the first time we played this game called Strategic Pairs. It’s about finding a partner to run the course and whoever makes a fault will need to swap partners to finish it. If you faulted and your partner faulted at the same obstacle, you just have to keep swapping and get stuck at that obstacle.
I paired up with long-time pal Miss Nova for the game, and as a consolation to everything, we actually managed to get 3rd and 1st respectively for both runs. *YAY*
Ok it might not be a big deal, but com’on how about a little encouragement!
Everyone received a postcard. Here’s mine:
Can you see mama in the neon wind-breaker??

The tiny humans with their great dogs.

Obviously I’m so infamous for knocking bars that’s why Luke wrote what he wrote, and I’m all the more convinced that I should not give up this wonderful sport.
But as you all know, my social life and recreation are solely at my parents’ mercy.
Need to think of a solution!

11 March 07: Bt Brown Cemetry
Erm I didnt join the fun today, because Mama was thinking I’m smelling like JPG Le Male so she’s lazy to groom me again today (I just bathed yesterday after attending Meteor’s and Jasmine’s birthday party)
But honestly I’m glad she didnt because turns out, I had 3 torn paw pads, which is quite a torture, out of 4 paws.
Human count: 14.
Dawg count: forgot to count
Anyhow, I’m sure everyone had fun! My folks organised this but they were actually the LAST to arrive! Turns out that they were on time, but when they drove in, they didnt see any familiar cars so they detoured and went for a spin and even drove to the petrol kiosk beside Aunty Eleanor’s home to take a pee break WAHAHAHA silly humans! *shakes tail in disapproval*
What do you think these logs are for?
For crawling under! “Excuse me, do you need help?” “No I can manage if you dont block my view”
Jewel suntanning to a lovely golden brown
At the end of it all, guess who we saw?
Uncle Ronald’s meditation got interrupted. heh
Join us for the next gathering! I promise it’ll be fun.
You’ll have lots of friends, tons of exercise, and a mobile canteen where you can have drinks and good food. And look, even a portable sofa! 8)

25 Feb 07: Mandai Lake Road
Read up about the invitation on Aunty Jenny’s blog.
She and Uncle Palani organised today’s gathering.
Dogs who attended: Suria, Luna, Jewel, Jeannie, Benji, Rainy, Bear Bear the chilli padi girl, Girl Girl the sweetest thing, Bear Bear the fearsome rottie (according to him lah), Kaiser, Mister Toto, and me!
We were the first to arrive.
Benji was a little grumpy today.. Can you tell?
Bear Bear.. fighter chick LOL
Girl girl….
Mister Toto
I think Rainy the Beagle is in love with me. We hit it off right from the start…
We went on the rocky roads together.
And went exploring the jungles together. “Be careful my handsome Mavy….”
Rainy seems like a nice and dandy Beagle. I would love to know Rainy better, if not for the fact that he is GAY!
I may be SNAG (Sterilised New Age Guy) but I’m straight!
Highlight of the day: Mum was face-to-face with ANACONDA when she was crossing a little stream and Aunty Joy shouted “SNAKE SNAKE” and pulled Mum out of the water to safety. Phew!
We also crossed the reservoir, which at the deepest point was chest-deep for the humans. EEW. I’m still waiting for the unglam “Andy air the crocs” pic from Aunty Jenny and Ting.
Across the reservoir at the other side.
Uncle K looking uber cool… I wanna be a commando like him when I grow up!
All the swimming and snake-scare was worth it.
Taking a dip in the refreshing clean water!
NICE
After the 3 hr hike…
Looks like Rainy isn’t the only gay around! Guess who is having a tryst with Suria (hidden in the bush trying to be discreet)
They were going at it all day. After awhile, I’m suspecting Brother Suria is secretly enjoying it! ![]()
And me?
.
.
Taking a blissful rest. Uncle Palani’s fried bee hoon, pappadam and fried chicken wings were so fantastic they were gone instantly.
Next gathering, Aunty Joy appointed my folks to do the organising. Hah!
Knowing my mama, she’d choose the easiest trail they’ve gone through before.
But my biggest worry for her is – she can’t cook to save her life! Will she unwittingly poison the guests? You have been fore-warned…

14 Jan 2007: Lorong Lada Hitam
In a bid to keep fit and healthy, we kept our date with the good ol’ Pet Portal gang for our fortnightly dose of morning exercise. In spite of the drizzle, all was good and merry.
Everyone reached destination early. Especially Aunty E she arrived the first, for being 1hour late for dinner the night before!
This time, even Dainty Alice joined us. (But you are soon to find out what changed her cheerful expression…)

Squeaky clean Crocs and white crisp socks will soon become….
Yummy chocolicious brownies! YUM!

The wet and the wonderful:
Aunty E: “We got lost in the forest.”
Gal friend: “Ok if you need help I will call 995 and despatch some SAR members”
Suria: My bum is my nicest angle.
Along the way we met a Spider. Psst Russ, what’s that nursery song about Spiders?

And another one

And a smoke granade.

Natural Pooch: NEW Wild Lingzhi on the menu.

Me and comrade Russ.

Why do I adore Russ?
Because I can always count on him to play Fetch!

There were no trails, no markers…

We just went on and on

Aunty E: UUGHHH!

Now that’s what I call a swim! In therapeutic icy cool mud.

Uncle Jack rescuing un-sheltie Liz out of the woods. that’s what happened to her.
In fact, Aunty Joy and mum + dad took turns to carry her.

Liz: From cheerful to cheesed off. But hey! at least we found a shed.

Jewel looking apprehensive because we were stuck in the shed and nearly got lost.

Aunty E: *unglam pic #1* Let me have my fix first.. to help me inhale better.
Unglam pic #2: trying to make it out alive and live to tell this tail!
Aunty E: OK that’s it.. Next hash: Botanic Gardens.
Unglam pic #3: That’s very unbecoming of a girl Jewel!

Unglam pic #4: Stuck in mud

Uncle Pal: Getting lost is the most fun part of it all!
Aunty E: I see civilization, but can we get there??
Russ: This is FUN! This is what real boys do!

We hiked for 3 hours, nearly got lost in the woods and the humans got cut by thorns.
All in all, it was a terrific time for me and my friends, but a terrifying time for Alice.
We all got wet and dirrtyy and had to head to Aunty Joy’s house for a shower- humans and dogs alike.
After that we feasted on home baked cookies while humans had dinner and everyone had to retire for the day even before it ended.
Luckily training got postponed due to the rain.

Fondue Party
My humans organised a fondue party tonight to spend the rainy day indoors.
The fondue set is a gift for Xmas ‘06, and from then on all parties are never quite the same! Especially potluck. Hehehe
Presenting Nicky my partner in crime…. we’re even after the same babe! (Venise)
Dad breaking his own record – heaviest (animated) object ever carried : 39kg.
See he cheated… using his leg to support the truckload. LOL
Food glorious foooooood
The sinful
The sinner…punished for banishing 1 bunch of grapes.
Hey Kaiser, Thanks for the invitation to your Birthday pawty.
Too bad we couldnt go because of the fondue.
But that’s no excuse for omitting your Birthday pressie… so here it is! Along with a Birthday Card.
Will pass to you on Sunday… Hope you like it!

Hash January 2007: Bukit Brown Cemetry
First hash of the year, and also my very first hash.
Now I can say I’ve been there and done that!
Rough doggy head count: 30.
Meeting point where all dogs and their humans gather.
Do you recognise anyone here?
Prep talk. You know you’re on the right trail when you see toilet paper, chalk and flour.
When it happens, just bark “On on!”
Halfway through the trail…
Looking weary but the march is still on
Ahh… there’s Aunty Jenny with something precious
In the middle of the cemetry…
We had to thread through rivers and steams…
Even the humans were not spared.
After awhile, I turned around and realised Dad & Mum were nowhere in sight!
Neither did I see Aunty Jenny. I was with Uncle Pal, Suria and Luna in the front all along and wondered where my humans were.
But I still had to march on… And march on I did. Throughout the rest of the hash I didnt see my folks again until the very end.
I suppose that’s what soldiers do in war too. Time waits for no one.
At the finish line…
Not my birthday, it’s Princess’ and Duchess’ birthdays! But we get to celebrate.
Uncle Pal was kind enough to stuff 2 muffins into my mouth, which Mama didnt share the same thoughts about.
Oh well… Maybe next time she can just ask me to do some tricks before feeding me, but please dont ask me to give up my dinner!
Downing beer in dog bowls from Ikea looks alot more fun when the Aussies sing “Down down down down down…”
In true Hash fashion, first timers have to come in a circle and down beer from dog bowls.
As you will see, anything can be worth cheering for. Hashing in a skirt, hashing in sandals, the one who smiles alot (Dad *ahem*), brown bottoms have to bottom up… anything!
From Kingsley’s:

It was fun!
I’ve never seen my papa sweat like that and mama hasnt been this tired since she ran Agility with me last month.
After that we all went home to take a much needed shower and went for dinner, or rather, the hungry humans went for dinner while we stayed in the car
