Just one pic

Guess who took this smackin’ rockin’ photo of me? Looks pretty cool doesnt it? The photography skill I mean. Ahem. Can even capture that is-that-seaweed on my teeth?!?!?! Oops!
I wonder if Uncle John would be kind enough to offer his services.
You see, I’ll be teaming up with pal Miss Nova for Flyball this Saturday. It’s official. Yay! Much thanks to Dexter & Deb.
We waited so long for this.
And we have lots of action going on doing Agility and playing Frisbees on the weekends.
I dont mind paying! Really. Cookies or fresh Raw Meaty Bones in kind.
For cash payment, you can always look for my folks!

We have a new member!
My prayers have been answered because not only did I get to continue Agility practices as of yesterday, and from now on every Saturday, my folks have decided to give me a new sibling!
We waited 7 months for this litter, since 2006. Our new playmate is a girl. Whatever it is, it sure is gonna be full house here, I think my folks should stop at 3! Cant imagine when they have their real human kids.
This is she:
Look I found the meatroll!

Photo courtesy of the breeder Deb Kelly. She breeds working Border Collies only.
We havent thought of a name for her yet, but we sure are excited! Since there are no sheep for her to herd/hurt in Singapore, she’ll have to make do with Agility, Flyball and Obedience. That’s ALOT of work for a Border Collie if you ask me.
I secretly pray that she will have no problems with toilet training like Big Brother ME.
I got toilet trained on my first night at home due to my being smart enough to know where the utility toilet is (just in the kitchen, and the kitchen is where I stayed for a large part of puppyhood for u-know-what reasons )
Anyways Im really glad. I have an appointment for grooming today at Fur ‘n’ Away, and my Mom wants to treat me to some Raw Meaty Bones for being such a good boy always.

Luke Schneider Agility Seminar 2007
Yesterday marked the end of the seminar.
I am feeling sad already! Because I know fairly well that it just means my folks are going back to their busy schedules and wont have time to bring me for anymore Agility practice.
Does anyone have any solution for this?
On hindsight, I picked up many new handling skills but I felt mama & I could benefit more if we had prior experience to this sport and are not so novice. It would certainly help if Mama didnt confuse her Front- and Rear-crosses. geeshhh..
Anyway it’s over and tonight we are going over to Dexter’s place for buffet dinner with Luke.
And oh! Yesterday for the first time we played this game called Strategic Pairs. It’s about finding a partner to run the course and whoever makes a fault will need to swap partners to finish it. If you faulted and your partner faulted at the same obstacle, you just have to keep swapping and get stuck at that obstacle.
I paired up with long-time pal Miss Nova for the game, and as a consolation to everything, we actually managed to get 3rd and 1st respectively for both runs. *YAY*
Ok it might not be a big deal, but com’on how about a little encouragement!
Everyone received a postcard. Here’s mine:
Can you see mama in the neon wind-breaker??

The tiny humans with their great dogs.

Obviously I’m so infamous for knocking bars that’s why Luke wrote what he wrote, and I’m all the more convinced that I should not give up this wonderful sport.
But as you all know, my social life and recreation are solely at my parents’ mercy.
Need to think of a solution!

B for BAD
I was reprimanded by Mummy for biting myself silly.
She pointed the bald patches to me and said “Why did you bite yourself huh? Can you stop doing that!”
(Veron: Immediately after scolding him, he looked mighty sad and slipped away to….. our utility toilet. And stayed there for a good 15min until I had to go in to carry him out. I think he was self-reflecting and really guilty because he wouldnt even look at me when I teased him with the camera!)

Up and coming
Hi ya all, I havent really got time to blog, because the mama’s been so busy with her school term tests and all. And not to mention, my papa is so caught up in his work and studies to bother about me. So these days are spent lying around the house until papa comes home at un-Godly hours to bring me down for a run if I’m lucky.
But all will change for the better, hopefully, when my folks finally settle down and get their own place. Ahh… so discussion has been rife lately between my folks and Mama’s friends, namely Aunty Shaz and Meiyee.
The aunties are talking about property and other boring stuff. Think Shaz wants to move into Calrose condo at Yio Chu Kang, but I’ll be happy if I just get my own home and get to stay with Lizzy and Mama and see them everyday! Nevermind where we stay.
But I have a request – it must be near to training areas like the East.
That’s Papa’s suggestion too! He told mama that we should get a condo unit in the East as everything cool is there – famous food, the beach, airport, and most importantly, training!
Hmm but according to mum, that wont happen for the next 2,3 years lah because getting married and settling down takes time and $$ to prepare.
And oh, I’ve been kept busy these few nights because I am attending an Agility Seminar organised by PUPS. They flew in this South Australian trainer Luke Schneider.

I think he is so cool! (sorry papa).
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I think mama too, although I could see she was quite tired after every session.
You can read more about the Seminar here: http://www.geocities.com/the_pups/LukeSAgilitySeminar.html.
That’s all for now… Hope to have more updates when I go for potluck dinner and next Sunday’s Class95 dog walk.
Ciao!
Mavy

11 March 07: Bt Brown Cemetry
Erm I didnt join the fun today, because Mama was thinking I’m smelling like JPG Le Male so she’s lazy to groom me again today (I just bathed yesterday after attending Meteor’s and Jasmine’s birthday party)
But honestly I’m glad she didnt because turns out, I had 3 torn paw pads, which is quite a torture, out of 4 paws.
Human count: 14.
Dawg count: forgot to count
Anyhow, I’m sure everyone had fun! My folks organised this but they were actually the LAST to arrive! Turns out that they were on time, but when they drove in, they didnt see any familiar cars so they detoured and went for a spin and even drove to the petrol kiosk beside Aunty Eleanor’s home to take a pee break WAHAHAHA silly humans! *shakes tail in disapproval*
What do you think these logs are for?
For crawling under! “Excuse me, do you need help?” “No I can manage if you dont block my view”
Jewel suntanning to a lovely golden brown
At the end of it all, guess who we saw?
Uncle Ronald’s meditation got interrupted. heh
Join us for the next gathering! I promise it’ll be fun.
You’ll have lots of friends, tons of exercise, and a mobile canteen where you can have drinks and good food. And look, even a portable sofa! 8)

25 Feb 07: Mandai Lake Road
Read up about the invitation on Aunty Jenny’s blog.
She and Uncle Palani organised today’s gathering.
Dogs who attended: Suria, Luna, Jewel, Jeannie, Benji, Rainy, Bear Bear the chilli padi girl, Girl Girl the sweetest thing, Bear Bear the fearsome rottie (according to him lah), Kaiser, Mister Toto, and me!
We were the first to arrive.
Benji was a little grumpy today.. Can you tell?
Bear Bear.. fighter chick LOL
Girl girl….
Mister Toto
I think Rainy the Beagle is in love with me. We hit it off right from the start…
We went on the rocky roads together.
And went exploring the jungles together. “Be careful my handsome Mavy….”
Rainy seems like a nice and dandy Beagle. I would love to know Rainy better, if not for the fact that he is GAY!
I may be SNAG (Sterilised New Age Guy) but I’m straight!
Highlight of the day: Mum was face-to-face with ANACONDA when she was crossing a little stream and Aunty Joy shouted “SNAKE SNAKE” and pulled Mum out of the water to safety. Phew!
We also crossed the reservoir, which at the deepest point was chest-deep for the humans. EEW. I’m still waiting for the unglam “Andy air the crocs” pic from Aunty Jenny and Ting.
Across the reservoir at the other side.
Uncle K looking uber cool… I wanna be a commando like him when I grow up!
All the swimming and snake-scare was worth it.
Taking a dip in the refreshing clean water!
NICE
After the 3 hr hike…
Looks like Rainy isn’t the only gay around! Guess who is having a tryst with Suria (hidden in the bush trying to be discreet)
They were going at it all day. After awhile, I’m suspecting Brother Suria is secretly enjoying it! ![]()
And me?
.
.
Taking a blissful rest. Uncle Palani’s fried bee hoon, pappadam and fried chicken wings were so fantastic they were gone instantly.
Next gathering, Aunty Joy appointed my folks to do the organising. Hah!
Knowing my mama, she’d choose the easiest trail they’ve gone through before.
But my biggest worry for her is – she can’t cook to save her life! Will she unwittingly poison the guests? You have been fore-warned…

[Alice] Job opening available
Aunty Shanice has a job opening – for doggies. Here’s the catch – you need to have sensitive skin or persistent skin problems. Which is so me.
Let me disclose a little about my health. I’ve been having the mother of all skin problems forever.
Mummy has consulted countless vets from Animal Recovery Clinic, Mt Pleasant, AMK Veterinary Clinic and Allpets Vet, but none could diagnose my problem – is it congenital, food allergy, inhalant allergy, chemical allergy?
Since nobody knows the diagnosis, I can only rely on long term steroid therapy. Which is by the way, BAD for humans and doggies alike. Long term steroid therapy will cause reduced hair growth and suppressed immune system.
But it’s not like I have a choice. Mummy has tried all ways and exhausted every means of herbal remedies, homeopathy, natural rememdies etc but nothing has worked.
She even self-dianosed me as suffering from Auto Immune disorder but the vet argued that it’s not.
Now that Aunty Shanice has a job opening, and since I’m such a suitable candidate, I wonder if I can apply??
If I’m successful, this could be my first gainful employment because as you all know, I lead a tai-tai life (read: yawnful, uneventful). How wonderful if I can work to earn my keep and cure myself at the same time? Talk about independence.
Interested candidates, please contact Aunty Shanice at barkingoodtimes@yahoo.com.sg
by the way here’s a pic of me at my everyday best:

A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.

[Alice]Here’s wishing everyone Happy Pig Yr ahead!
It’s the time of the year again where our parents are:
- Busy eating ba-gua (BBQ pork), love letters, mandarin oranges and peanuts,
- entertaining guests,
- visiting relatives, and
- gambling
- receiving ang-paos (most vital)
We have a very important self-appointed job to do – to clean up after careless children and adults who talk with their mouths full. Heh heh heh
We will stick around them and surely, someone will drop a bit of the ba-gua or crumbs of the love-letters.
No wonder we couldnt sleep last night. The anticipation!

Will you hurry up?

I received $8 in my ang paos today.
How much did you doggies receive??
