Countdown begins…

Ok… This is the final week of exams for me.
I havent been out for so long, I must have forgotten how to have fun.
Every ounce of me is dying to go out, chill out, bring the dogs out, bring Mavy for agility, flyball, some good ol’ training…

We’ve already lined up programs to go Vivo City and drop by training on weekends.
I’m thinking of buying new clothes for school and training.
With GAP and the other newly opened shops, I hope I wont go home empty-handed.

Plus, we’ve been invited to a friend’s dog’s birthday at East Coast! How nice.
Well, the mistress of the dog is Miss-I-wont-wear-or-carry-anything-without-a-designer-label.
Actually I’m quite surprised that we got invited.
Firstly, we’ve only met the girl 2 times.
Secondly, well, there’s no secondly because we’ve only met her twice.
I wonder what we should get for her (the dog, not the owner)?
I hope Prada does kibbles.
Like… foie gras pour chiens (goose liver dog food).

Busy weekend

It’s only Saturday and I can predict it’s gonna be a crazy weekend.

We’re not going to the dog show for the first time in our dog-owning lives (??!horror?!!?), and also, Andy hasnt quite made up his mind about what color for the car.
And frankly, I know nuts about cars and the person he ought to consult is his father.
However, the last few times we tried to talk our way to getting new wheels, it was unsuccessul and that has left me feeling damn pissed, even till now everytime I think about it.

We went to the showroom to look at the new wheels. The lady was uber friendly and my first impression of her was that she gave me this tight vaso-constricting handshake.
If anyone wants to know what I think about the car.. Well, as long as it can fit a young unmarried couple in the front, and 2 shedding maniacs in the hatchback boot, I’m cool.
Hot wheels aside, Andy actually suggested we bring Mavy to Shaz’s house and let the big dogs exercise in the field!
It’s rather unlike him to plan gatherings for dogs. Sooo shweet…
Or is it because after play-group everyone will be heading for crabs and seafood? Hmm….

And.. I’ve never mentioned this before, but I just can’t wait for my exams to be over on 3rd Nov, to be exact.
I’ve promised myself and Mavy that I wont be so caught up in books and ignore his physical and mental well-being, so well, actually I intend to sign him up for new classes. (After bugging Kaiser-daddy with endless questions for 1904343455 times :P).

Andy will surely protest if he knows the costs involved. Erm, from what I read in self-help articles, the supporting wife/gf should not disclose too much unnecessary information that might pose a threat to the relationship.
So I dont intend to let Andy know about this.
He already has enough issues to worry about. I mean, think of all the paper work involved when you need to rid your old car and get a new one. I heard him and that vaso-constriction-handshake-lady mention “paper value” and “insurance”.
He really doesnt need to be overloaded with mundane dog-training information.

For now, we will just embrace the weekend and savour the seafood tonight! Did I mention we love crabs??

Universal Sheltie Code

Remember the Sheltie code – When in doubt, bark!
It was raining and dark. She was barking at dunno-wat. tsk.

Makan Sutra

The place: Inside People’s Association chalets, at Pasir Ris Park car park E. It’s off Elias Road.
The price: Adult $13.80; Senior Citizens $10.00; Children $8.00 (or $10?? forgot); Students get discount too.

The spread: spoilt for choice with all the yummy food.
Bean sprouts (our fav), assortment of veg, thinly sliced beef, sotong, bacon, satay, crabs, prawns, mushmellows. . .. etc.

We liked the non-stick grill pans best! See? No foil. No oil.
No cancer-causing black carcinogens stuck on pans. Hot!

Upper Seletar Reservoir

We spent the lazy hazy Saturday by bringing the dawgs to Upper Seletar Reservoir to stretch their legs. As usual, Alice would rather be hanging out at Cafe Cartel or some swanky place than running around in a field.
Mavy had quite a good time, needless to say.

After which, we brought them to Dr Frederic Chua @ Allpets, where Alice got her Steroids and skin treatment cream. Thanks to the Mama for giving her some new food, her allergy developed again. I was reminded again that her skin problems can’t be cured, but they can be managed well. That’s of course if I dont try to get adventurous again.
Now I’m made to cook for her a fish diet until the allergy clears. Great.

Mavy got some advice too – as a rule of thumb to lose weight, keep to the same protein level, reduce carb, reduce calories, increase fiber.
In the end I managed to get 2 free trial boxes of Eukanuba Weight Control Formula. 1 is for Shaz’s obese Golden Retriever.

We then headed to US Pet House to stock up some supplies, and went for dinner with my mum. Salted-egg crabs (yum!), asam fish, and spicy kang-kong.

We ended the night abruptly because Andy had to go meet his Stephanie-car-dealer, to see if he can fetch a good price for the car.
