Weighty issues

Yesterday Shanice & mama were discussing weighty issues.
She asked how I managed to lose so much weight in such a short time because apparently the last time she saw me at Petgamart swimming pool, I was FAT. I think I weighed close to 20kg then. But now, I’m a svelte 17kg! 8)

No, I’m not anorexic, nor do I endorse slimming ads.
The mama simply decided to feed me on a tried and tested BARF diet on weekends.
By the way BARF stands for Bones And Raw Food, or Biologically Appropriate Raw Food.
Whatever it stands for, I’m not complaining!

Fresh pork ribs and meat from Shop & Save

This was what I ate last weekend:
Pork meat, ribs, plain yoghurt with live bacteria.

This is what I’m eating this weekend:
Chicken back, chicken wings, chicken claws, liver, drumstick, neck.

Will try to post up some pics of my other meals.
You see, it’s so exciting not knowing what you’re gonna get for your next meal!
Today’s Easter Day, will I get Easter eggs?

ETA: here’s a website that I read and found useful especially the “Learn More” section.

Nova>> I am convinced it’s a Sheltie thing because that’s what Alice does too. And for the same reason as yours, Mama doesnt give her BARF anymore hehe.. She likes to take the bloody stuff to soft places around the house like rugs and beds. When mama last caught her eating on her bed, obviously she wasnt very amused about it. Serves Alice right. 😛

Luna>> The servings are chomp size so I dont dirty my mouth. Do you & Suria brother clean your mouths after your Oxtail and Tulang sessions?

Hi doggies at Dogueville I didnt know there is a cool boarding cum fitness centre like yours in Singapore. Nice job there.

I grew up on BARF when I was a puppy, until I was about 1yr old. I am 2.5yrs now. Like anydog on BARF would tell you, it’s really amazing stuff. I dont put on weight and I am more active. Recently been put back on BARF again after Mama read some discussions in Dogsforum. But since mama’s a nurse and gotta work shifts, BARF diets are only limited to my weekends. Though I wish I have more! 😛

Anyhow, will try to post up some websites that I frequent which I find helpful to you. Cheers!

Fei is on raw food too for dinners. We usually feed her kibbles and goat mlik in the morning because I just don’t have time to supervise her eating bones.

BARF is quite fun too. I usually prepare for a week or 2 week’s worth. We have some tails, lungs and hearts and roo for the coming week.
